Colton and Lindsey met while both employed at the same firm. Colton was enraptured one day when he heard a rock song playing and made inquiries to the surrounding room about who was playing the song. He was directed to Lindsey, who he quoted as being "A highly intimidating, but beautiful, woman with excellent taste in music." From there, a friendship was tentatively developed.

Over the next several years, Colton and Lindsey would occasionally message each other for life updates and check-ins, neither knowing that eventually, they would reach a point where they never stopped talking. In January of 2023, Colton posted on his snapchat story that he was going to an interview. Lindsey responded and wished him best of luck! From that point forward, they developed a steady messaging relationship.

Both lovers of PC gaming, Lindsey invited Colton to come and play an online game with her group of friends. After everyone got off for the night, Colton and Lindsey ended up talking until the morning hours of the next day! They talked about life, interests, and the world. It was during that special conversation Colton officially asked Lindsey out on a date.

Their first date was at a local coffee house and both were incredibly nervous about seeing each other in person after so much time had passed. However, as soon as they saw each other, sparks flew. They laughed and had so much fun together, Colton decided he couldn't let Lindsey get away again. He asked her that day to officially be his girlfriend and the rest is history.

Over the next several months, it would become incredibly clear to both Colton and Lindsey that the foundational friendship they had maintained throughout the years would aid them in quickly falling in love with each other. Although things moved fast by society standards, they moved with perfect timing for the couple. What once was only friendship evolved into something deeper and more beautiful than they could have ever imagined, eventually leading to their engagement on November 19, 2023.
